Yinka Aluko is a Behavior Specialist and the founder of Empower Behavior Advocates. She is a dedicated advocate for individuals on the spectrum and those with other developmental disabilities living in Nigeria. She has over 20 years of experience working in the special needs community.
Having worked in a variety of environments, she has garnered the skill set and knowledge to work with children on various levels of the autism spectrum. She has also worked with various Behavioral clinics. Her work includes working with individuals from levels 1 to 3 on the autism spectrum including children with severe language delays and severe behaviors (i.e. hitting, biting, self-injurious behavior.) She has worked with schools and privately in the homes of several families.
She holds an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Development and earned a Master of Science degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Purdue University Global, Indiana USA. Her journey into advocacy was inspired by the pressing need for support and awareness in Nigeria. Witnessing the challenges and gaps in services for individuals on the spectrum and those with developmental disabilities, she recognized the importance of advocating for their rights and better access to resources.
Her expertise in behavior analysis, coupled with a profound empathy for the community, inspired her to establish Empower Behavior Advocates. Through this organization, she works tirelessly to raise awareness, provide crucial resources, and advocate for a more inclusive and supportive environment for individuals with developmental disabilities in Nigeria.
